Voicemail
Purpose
Provide callers with a voicemail option when users are unavailable. Each extension has a personal voicemail box.
General Settings
Voicemail Status
- Enable/Disable: Turn voicemail on or off for this extension
- Purpose: Control whether callers can leave voicemail messages
Voicemail PIN
- Value: 4-8 digit numeric PIN
- Purpose: Secure access to voicemail box via phone
- Use Case: Dial voicemail feature code and enter PIN to retrieve messages
- Recipient: Email address to receive voicemail notifications
- Attach Audio: Include .wav file attachment of voicemail message
- Delete After Send: Remove voicemail from server after emailing
- Purpose: Receive voicemail messages via email for remote access
- Value: 5-120 seconds
- Default: 30 seconds
- Purpose: How long extension rings before sending caller to voicemail
Greetings
Purpose
Customize the message callers hear before leaving voicemail.
Greeting Types
- Played when extension is busy on another call
- Default: "[Extension] is currently on another call. Please leave a message."
- Use Case: Inform callers you're already on a call
- Override default greeting temporarily
- Use Case: Out-of-office message during vacation or business travel
- Expiry: Can set expiry date to auto-revert to standard greeting

Advanced Options
Additional Settings
Voicemail Transcription:
- Convert voicemail audio to text
- Delivered via email or Linkus app
- Use Case: Quickly scan message content without listening
Operator Extension:
- Allow callers to press 0 to reach operator
- Specify operator extension or ring group
- Use Case: Provide escape option during voicemail greeting
Maximum Message Length:
- Value: 30-300 seconds
- Default: 120 seconds
- Purpose: Prevent excessively long voicemails
Maximum Messages:
- Value: 10-100 messages
- Default: 50 messages
- Purpose: Limit voicemail box storage
Configuration Steps
Navigate to Voicemail
Go to Extensions > Select user > Voicemail
General Tab
- Enable voicemail
- Set PIN (share with user securely)
- Configure email notifications
- Set ring timeout
Greetings Tab
- Upload or record greetings
- Select active greeting for each type
- Set temporary greeting (if needed)
Save
Click Save
Result
Voicemail is active. Callers can leave messages when user is unavailable.
