Users Overview

Purpose

Extensions allow users to make and receive calls. Each employee in your organization can have an extension - a short internal number for internal and external communications.

Extension Types

The Cloud PBX supports SIP extensions based on the SIP protocol.

Requirements

Register the extension on an IP phone or softphone (Linkus clients) to make or receive calls.

Online Status Indicators

Monitor extension status in real-time:

Phone Endpoints:

  • SIP icon: Extension is registered and ready for use
  • Hover over icon to view IP addresses of registered SIP phones

Linkus Clients:

  • Desktop icon: Linkus Desktop Client is active
  • Mobile icon: Linkus Mobile Client is active
  • Web icon: Linkus Web Client is active

Key Concepts

  • Extension Number: Short internal number (e.g., 1001, 1002)
  • Registration: Process of connecting a phone/softphone to an extension
  • Presence: Current availability status (available, busy, away, DND)
  • Voicemail: Personal voicemail box for each extension
  • Outbound Caller ID (DOD): Number displayed when making external calls
