Purpose

Store and organize external contacts for easy access from IP phones, Linkus clients, and web portal.

Contact Types

Personal Contacts

Individual contact lists for each user.

Features:

  • Exclusive to extension user
  • Stored per-user
  • Up to 3,000 contacts per extension
  • Managed via Linkus clients only
  • Not visible to other users
  • Cannot be shared or synced

Use Case: Direct customers, personal business contacts, family.

Company Contacts

Shared contacts accessible across organization.

Features:

  • Centrally managed
  • Shared among authorized users
  • Up to 50,000-500,000 total contacts (depending on plan)
  • Managed via PBX web portal and Linkus clients
  • Visibility controlled by admin
  • Can be organized into phonebooks

Use Case: Company customers, resellers, partners, vendors, suppliers.


Phonebooks

Purpose

Organize company contacts into logical groups with controlled access.

Phonebook Types

PBX-Native Phonebook:

  • Contacts added manually from PBX or Linkus
  • Admin controls structure and permissions
  • Supports import/export via CSV

Third-Party Phonebook:

  • Contacts synced from external system
  • Microsoft SQL, LDAP, CRM integration
  • Read-only in PBX (managed at source)
  • Auto-updates on schedule

Visibility & Permissions

Default Behavior

Company phonebooks are invisible to users unless permissions are granted.

Permission Levels

  • Phonebook hidden from user
  • Cannot view or call contacts
  • Can see contacts in directory
  • Can call contacts
  • Cannot add, edit, or delete
  • Full access to contacts
  • Add new contacts
  • Edit existing contacts
  • Delete contacts
  • Export phonebook

Configuration

Contacts > Phonebook > Select phonebook → Permissions tab → Add users/groups → Set permission level → Save

Result: Users see and access phonebooks according to assigned permissions.
