Presence (Forwarding Profiles)
Purpose
Control how incoming calls are handled based on your availability status. Presence profiles define call forwarding, ring strategies, and routing behavior.
Call Forwarding
Purpose
Redirect incoming calls to alternative destinations when unavailable.
- No Answer: Forward if call not answered within ring timeout
- Busy: Forward when extension is busy on another call
- Unavailable: Forward when extension is not registered
- Always: Forward all incoming calls immediately
- Another extension

Use Case: Forward calls to mobile phone when away from desk, or to voicemail after business hours.
Ring Strategy
Purpose
Define how multiple devices ring when a call arrives.
All registered devices ring simultaneously
Use Case: Answer from desk phone or mobile, whichever is closest
Devices ring sequentially based on priority
Use Case: Ring desk phone first for 10 seconds, then mobile
Randomly select one device to ring
Use Case: Distribute calls across multiple users
Ring first available (non-busy) device
Use Case: Skip busy devices automatically
Ring Timeout
Purpose
Set how long devices ring before triggering no-answer forwarding or voicemail.
Configuration
- Value: 5-120 seconds
- Default: 30 seconds
Result
After timeout expires without answer, call is forwarded based on no-answer forwarding rule.

Accept Incoming Calls
- Enable/disable incoming calls for this presence profile
- Use Case: Block calls during meetings or focus time
Send Calls Directly to Voicemail
- Bypass ringing and send immediately to voicemail
- Use Case: Do Not Disturb mode without disabling voicemail
Mobile Phone Number
- Specify external mobile for call forwarding
- Use Case: Forward to personal mobile when working remotely
Presence Profiles
Create Multiple Profiles
Create multiple profiles for different scenarios:
- Ring all devices simultaneously
- 30-second timeout
- Forward to voicemail if no answer
- Show as busy
- Send to voicemail immediately
- No ringing
- Forward immediately to mobile
- No voicemail
- 45-second mobile ring timeout
- Forward to alternate extension or ring group
- Custom busy greeting
- 20-second timeout
Configuration Steps
Navigate to Presence
Go to Extensions > Select user > Presence
Select Profile
Select or create presence profile
Configure Forwarding
Configure Call Forwarding rules
Set Ring Strategy
Set Ring Strategy
Define Timeout
Define Ring Timeout
Enable Options
Enable additional Options as needed
Save
Click Save
Result
Incoming calls are handled according to the active presence profile.
Switching Presence
Users can switch between presence profiles via:
- Linkus clients (mobile, desktop, web)
- IP phone (if supported)
- Feature codes (*71, *72, etc.)
- Time-conditional auto-switch (see Features)
Use Case: Automatically switch to "Away" profile after business hours, or manually switch to "Busy" during meetings.
